Ok.   I shared my wieght.    That is something I havent been honest about for the last 5 years.  So this is also an integrity excersice for me.  

 

I have recently lost some weight  15 pounds-- and hit a plateau.  So this contest is perfect for me.  To the other ladies who shared thier weight..... Thanks for hopping on the Bus with me!! 

 

My strategy:

 

If it's white:  Dont Eat it!  No Potatoes, No pasta, No bread, No sugar!  And yes-- all carbohydrates metabolize into sugar. 

 

I am trying to take in a lot of water.  This is my achellies heel.  For some reason --- I have a hard time with it.  Especially in the winter. 

I lost the first 15 pounds with www.DrRickMarschall.com  ( the website is not anything to brag about but his program is awesome)   He has a program where you take therapetic does of HCG.  These are tiny shots like allergy shots.  And you are supposed to stay on 500 calories a day.  Now I didnt count calories and I cheated on the amounts of food.  I probably averaged 900 to 1000 calories a day.  But I didnt veer off the program foods.  

 

In his program, you go on the shots for 30 days then you go off for 60 days.  Surprisingly, you still loose wieght when you go off the shots.  He says the HCG shots help to balance your hypothalmus gland so that you can metabolize better. 

 

I have  2 friends that lost 60 pounds each with him in a matter of 3 or 4 months.  It sounds harsh but I have never eaten any healthier.  I actually lost 18 pounds.    But I gained 3 back on vacation.  Drinking is Bad!!  And it results in weight gain. 

Diet Coke is Liquid Satan!!

 

I used to be a diet coke addict.  Until I read the book, "Skinny Bitch" --- this is a hillarious look at what makes us fat.  It makes you retain water weight because of the salt content.  The aspertame is a brain killing chemical and it prevents you from taking in the water you need.    I used to be a 4 Diet Coke a day drinker!!

When I was 24 -- ( 40 now) -- I lived with a model roommate in LA.  We were both thin-- but we thought we were fat.  ( ha!) So what we would do in order to keep ourselves out of the refrigerator was the following:

 

We took close up pictures of each others bare ass and posted them on the refrigerator,  That way when we went to the fridge with the muchies -- boom-- there were all the imperfections !!!  You never see your own ass.  You have this vision of how your ass may be --- then there is the reality of the whole thing.  This was very sobering.  Yes it is slightly humiliating.  But it worked wonderfully.  Of course today I would die to have that ass now.... imperfections and all.  We were crazy.  We thought that Cindy Crawford was fat.

 

For those of us with families-- this wont work.  It would scare the hell out of my kids.  But it is really good for someone living alone.  You walk over to that refrigerator ..... take one look at that sight.   No more appetite.

Yep, alcohol is a simple sugar. Want to lose weight? Limit the booze.

Yep -- you can easily add another 300 calories with one drink! ouch!

Dena - I always try and get my first 8 glasses of water down before noon. It's like a contest in itself to me. If I can do it I'm good for the whole day! :-) Staying away from the white breads - or carbs alltogether - seems to be what works best for me. It's not easy though when you are a carb lover (like me!)

good reminder about the diet coke. I don't drink it a lot but I do love it sometimes and then I get on a roll!
