I didn't add a column above for weigh-in weight, as I really don't want to embarrass anyone, however, is that truly a valid concern? Let me know.

No real desire to put my "weigh in" weight. :-)
I did, however, create a spreadsheet so I could track calorie intake / calorie burn.
Guess I am going to take it seriously. :-)

I added a separate page for those that want to track results. Certainly no one is required to use it.

never mind. I figured it out. For everyone else. There is a view tab and an edit tab. You have to go to the edit tab.

Glad to know that Steve -- yes-- I don't like to know what my weight is, let alone share it with others! I will be happy to share after the fact~~ When I win! Pony up people!

8.5%. Ha! I'm going for 8.6%.. ;) Might as well get out the checkbooks people and write "Pay to the order of the American Cancer Society". This thing is over before it's even started.

I am so used to lying about my weight. I am going to take a video of the scale just to keep me honest!!!! If I win the challenge--- I will share the video --- including the weight with the group!! 8.5% ---- wow -- that sounds good.

I had salad for lunch today, but decided pizza and wings and beer were a MUST HAVE for dinner tonight. And my goal is in the 2-3% range. It's realistic, unlike you people with your 8% dreams.

For those that care/dare to have a log/blog page, you can create a new wiki page via the create new page link at the top right. Then, so we all know you have a page, just add a link to your page by editing the main page. There's a menu link on the right hand side when you are in edit mode to make adding the page link easy. Note that Jay created a detailed tracking page, for those that are ok with sharing their weight daily, weekly, or whatever. You aren't obligated in any way to use track your status there, however.
FYI, Jay and I are both set up as administrators, which means we can decide who gets to be a wiki member, but otherwise every one else is an editor, which means you can each make any change to anything on any page. Changes are tracked, however, and you'll be notified of any changes that get made at least once a day.
Speaking of notifications, there is a setting change that you can choose for the wiki to be alerted daily, hourly, or as it happens, regarding changes to the wiki. Daily is probably often enough, but if the smack talk gets exciting, as it happens might be the option for you! That setting change is under the HOME screen of your account. RSS subscription is also possible, though I haven't used it, so I'm not sure what it looks like.
Remember, a wiki is a community built information share. If you think it would be interesting, even if only for yourself, build a page or modify an existing page. There's no handcuffs, no limits. Here's to all of us being HUGE losers.

OK my goal is 10% which is about 2.5 pounds per week and will land me at 184lbs on 2/1. I know big goal, but I'd rather aim too high and just miss than aim to low and just hit it

Let's be careful out there. A bunch of edits just got lost and names that were added are missing. I had to re-add my name. Now off to the gym in a little bit. What a great idea!

Good morning all you fellow challengers. I weighed in this morning but will not be posting my number. Trust me, I'm the biggest loser-wannabe of this group. I have enlisted a friend and fellow Twitter to be my accountant of my numbers for verification. Felt like I needed that since I'm going to smoke all of you in this and you'll be screaming for a recount. Hehe.
Seriously, good luck to all of you and this was a fantastic idea with charity as the benefactor.

Missing/Lost edits: The wiki isn't very smart about editing. The last saved change is the last saved change. It doesn't lock the page when you start an edit, and then hold that lock until you press save. Therefore, if 2 people are editing at once, the final edit is the saved edit. For this reason, the safest way to edit is very quickly. Go to edit, make the change immediately, and save. If you go to edit, then do your cardio for 30 minutes, and come back afterward to report on how it went, and that you somehow lost 2 lbs and everyone else is a lesser loser than you are...chances are you'll overwrite an edit that happened in that 30 minutes.
FYI, edit changes are noted on the far right. If you see an edit happening at the same time, you might double-check.

beer and football are my vices. football is the only time i actually watch tv. my husband and i both grew up in households where you didn't get up from the table until you ate everything on your plate. we need to change that way of thinking.

@Tina in Virginia - I came from similar family as well, in addition to finishing everything I had a time limit :) My dad's favorite saying was - "you got 6 seconds left!"

@Tina in Virginia oh yea, and one more thing - no snacking around. We didn't even have such word - I never knew what a snack was. It was precise: breakfast, dinner and supper. Not more and not less. That was probably one of the reasons I had trouble gaining weight while was in my teenage years. I was going to gym every day lifting weights and couldn't get over my tiny weight of 138lb, but I grew out from mine and dad's suits (while he was at 190lb). :)

@Tina - My parents weren't like that. We were expected to eat our food... but as long as we gave good effort we were dismissed. I have really sensitive tastebuds and had a great gag reflect as a child. I don't think that my mom could stomach me gagging because she worked ways around it. I still don't eat much pasta, but we'll leave it at that!

wiki doesn't like my computer right now. Can someone start a "Help" or "Encouragement" page where we could ask a question, or ask for some motivation or encouragement? Might be easier than reading each other's pages everyday.

A helpful hint for breakfast, if you are okay with Oatmeal, the Weight Control is a little higher in Calories but for some reason it stays with me longer, right until lunchtime. Might be good for an afternoon snack for some folks to carr you through to dinner. Good luck to all.

I'll create a page later. Haven't participated in a wiki before but I'll figure it out later today. Big setback 2 days after the big weigh in. Scale 5 pounds off. Nice. Oh well. Way it goes. Ran 3 miles yesterday and again today.
Little concerned about participating in the dialogue here because frankly when I talk about work outs or diets I'm a B**ch. I don't enjoy it and I'm mad at myself. 3 years ago I was in the best shape of my life and I let it go. Can't explain it. Work, kids, busy but so disappointed in myself. So hard to get back at it.
I'm surprised that this little impromptu forum is what kick started me. You'd think it would have been the fact that I can't fit into any of my clothes... Thanks guys for organizing this. It was just what I needed.
